which do you personally prefer?

Blonde as in like the 'fake' sort of blonde like died blonde...that is straight/straightened

and brown as in natural colour and naturaly wavy (low maintainance)

This depends on the person because some look better with blonde hair and some dont, same for brown.

I have wavy hair also so i can speak from personal experience. While ur hair is wet use Aveda Hang Straight. Blowdry as usual and straighten as ususal. Than when you are finished use Aveda Anti-Humectant but VERY little of it starting at the ends and barely any at the crown so as not to make ur hair oily. I work at a hair salon so ive seen it work! good luck!

Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum is a life savor!!! I have the same problem and this is the only thing that works! Also Rusk leave in conditioner works great as well. The Chi straightener works best as a flat iron but it is expensive....you can get it on eBay though for pretty cheap... Good luck!!!!

I have naturally curly/wavy hair that I straighten also. I found a product that I LOVE, and it's almost impossible to go too heavy with it. The brand is S Factor, and it's called smoothing luster, they also have a spray called keep it straight(or something similar to that). Just be careful when applying any product that you don't get too much right at the root, otherwise you will look like a grease head!

i have super curly hair and i use a ghd and it stays straight all day, but you have to go over everry bit of hair for it to look nice and straight. buy a ghd trust me they are worth it.

Also maybe try a spray instead of a cream if it makes your hair oily, and try different shampoos that make your hair feel nice!

2. Use a diffuser and some sort of product - this works for my sister-in-law who has straight hair.

Shorter the hair, the less weight on the head and the more bouncy and curly your hair will become. But I also know there is curling shampoo (not sure if it works) that gives you a temporary curl. But besides that, there isn't too much else to do (without attempting curling gel and/or curling iron).

well i have a way u can do wavyish curly....but ur gonna need a diffuser and a couple of hours..

if ur willing to try it here:

after u get out of the shower pat ur hair w/the towel to where its not dripping anymore and put hairspray all over it

then put ur hair in a big, sloppy, and loose bun and put more hairspray

after about an hour (or more) take it down and dry it with a diffuser

Well, it helps if you have wavy or curly hair to begin with. Usually, if I don't have time to curl my hair in the morning, I'll braid my hair in one or two tight braids when my hair is slightly wet, then sleep with it like that. If it doesn't come out with enough volume, I'll use the curling iron on some curls to define them. Sprunch Spray by Aussie help A LOT, and it holds the curls. You could also use Paul Mitchell Mousse to hold them, but not Garnier Frutise mousse, it leaves a lot of buildup, and it's hard to get out.

After you shower (or when your hair is wet) put in regular curlers and keep them in over night or until your hair is dry. You can find all sizes of curlers at most stores (even the dollar store) and the smaller the curler, the smaller the curl. Then, gently take them out and you should have nice curls!! Good luck :)

I know that you specifically said curly hair but if you don't want to use any chemicals or heat maybe you can go for the wavy look. I did this to mines last week and it was so cute! So what you do is right after you wash it use whatever products you use and braid it really tight. I only put mines in four braids because I wanted a loose wave. For tighter waves do smaller braids. Put rubber bands on the ends so it will stay and when you wake up in the morning take them out. There you will have a natural wavy look!

My hair is different than yours, considering I'm african-american. But I do have caucasian friends that this works on also, but everyone's hair texture is different. try it;

Wash your hair first, then braid it (if you can braid). It can be regular box braids or Cornrows (suggest cornrows)

Dry it with the blowdryer or let it dry naturally outside (suggest naturally, but if you're in a rush to take out the braids, blowdryer)

Take out the braids :) , and there you have it. nice curly hair.

If you don't want to use gel, you can always use Mousse (tresemme) to put in your hair after you wash it.

Are there any hair products or styles or techniques that give versitility to fine, shoulder length hair? I have a medium amount of hair. I currently wear it parted in the middle with bangs and I'd really like a change. I've tried gels and sprays but nothing holds for long. Years ago I had a perm, but they damaged my hair. Are there new ones that won't?

Maybe you should consider a texturized cut. Either a razor cut or have them chop up the bottom third of your hair all around. A nice, longer, sideswept bang would add some interest.

You can put mousse in it before blow drying for volume. I have fine, shoulder-length hair with a razor cut but I don't use mousse because I flat iron my hair straight. I like it straight now. I did find this Aveda control paste that I use a small amount of on the ends and it defines the pieces.

Bedhead should work...or even taking a bottle and mixing some sea salt, water, and texturizing spray as a primer should help...good luck...also there is big and sexy hair products, which I love!

i use bedhead and it does wonders on me and i have loong hair thats pin straight. i also use treseme hairspray max hold (it has green writing on it) and its a black bottle and as soon as u get out of the shower just spray and scrunch by taking a bunch of hair in your hand and pushing it up and squeezing it in your fist!!

Alright, here's what you should do. Get a triple barrel curling iron. They work soooooo good! And very pretty curls too. After you do a strand or so of curls with it, spray it with hair spray. Repeat through out your whole head. You'll look great.
