you could try crimping it, it is very cool looking. i had very thick, long, and wavy hair. and resently donated 10 inches of my hair and got layers. i think that you should search for a style that you like and go for it. create something new in you it really chears you up!!! i know

you could do the poof with a messy pony tail or just a messy pony tail. These just work with the top of your head and leave the rest long. You could crimp but i don't really like the look. You could just look up styles online and see which ones you like. that always works :]

I think you should get it cut in layers....this always adds a fresh, "new" look to a hair style. The more layers the better. You'd be surprised at how much better your hair will look!!!! try it! good luck!
