Straight hair help!!!?
I got my hair straightened a few years back. I loved it at first, but a few more times and it started breaking off. I would find pieces of hair on my pillow. I had to cut my hair short to fix the damage.
Now, I straighten my hair on my own with a blow dryer and flat iron. I only wash it twice a week. I would suggest going this route. If it matters, I am white. If you are African american, you may be able to do a relaxer, but I won't pretend to know anything about that, it may be different on Black hair.

call a student salon, one run by a local cosmetology school. they always have cheaper prices. i live in iowa and it would've only been fifteen dollars for chemical relaxing. it depends on the place, really. it's something you have to keep up with, though. call a salon, they'll give you the best answers.

I don't think it's a good idea.
I don't know the exact price ranges for each session, but it's usually one to a few hundred dollars. You would also then have to go on a regular basis, because as new hair will start growning, it will still be curly. Also, your roots will be curly as they grow. It would probably look wierd

its about $100 an hour can. I't took about 41/5 hours. It was deffinatly worth it with my curly hair the good thing about it is you can still curl it but have it straight other days without frizz and spending hours!!!

Here is an article about straightening curly hair the less harmful and expensive way, from beautyriot.com, this is the link, http://www.beautyriot.com/article.php?id...

Actually there's two ways of permanently straightening it.
You can get it straightened at a salon, although it only straightens your already grown hair, and once it grows out it will be curly again.
The other way, is new pills.
New hair straightening pills they use in hollywood, but those only affect hair that is not grown in yet, the hair will become straighter as it grows.
Both are expensive, and irons are a hassle.
I have had mine straightened at a salon, but as soon as it grew out I started getting little cowlicks everywhere and I looked like an idiot, I would not do it again.
Plus it dried out my hair.
Now I stick to a really good fast ceramic iron.
Hope I helped!

You need to realize straiting your hair will major damage it if it is not done right
you are inflicting real damage because the cell during the relaxing faze are broken down to release the curl
Ask around to those in your area who have done this fine out who is the best and if you like the results
DO NOT USE A HOME KIT
It truly depends where you are as to the cost It can be as low as $30 and up to $500

I checked this site out to see if anyone was asking this
question. I have always had curly hair, and I hate it. I found
a way to keep my hair straight without going to a salon and
it lasts for about six months or more. It only cost about
$10.00. Buy any product for perming hair. Add the contents
as indicated, but instead of applying it to make curls, lean
your head over the sink or bath tub and have a good comb,
now add the contents to your hair and keep combing your
hair straight. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. It does smell
as all hair products do, but it works better than anything else
you will ever try and it certainly cost alot less. I have been
doing it to my hair for years and I also color my hair. But
make sure you don't do it if you recently colored your hair.
It will work.

I don't know I have really curly hair and have thought about it before too but I just keep thinking, I like having the option of the natural curly look but then I can always still straighten it with a good salon straightener. So you kind of get it both ways you know? Because once you have straight hair you can never go back to having that same curly look, everybody with straight hair who tries to get it curly never gets the look they want. Plus what if you do get it done permanently but then it's not done good, so like whatever you end up with it's kind of too bad because you can't take it back. What if it's so straight it's just flat or what if some sections don't straighten as much and some parts are wavy, there's just so much that can happen. I wouldn't recommend it. Plus I hear it's really expensive. Just go to a salon and ask if you can order a straightener that they use, I bought the Gamma Italy it's close to $300 but it's totally worth it. My hair is like insanely curly and it straightens perfectly with it.
