I have naturally reeeeally curly hair - how can I get it to go pin straight?

My cousin has hair like mine, too and she is going to lend me her straightener. I know for a fact that it goes really straight. My hair is around between Alicia Keys and Sarah Taylor's textures.

Are there any products I can put in my hair to make it go pin straight and to block out humidity from the air?

I'm not ordering online - something I can go pick up at Zellers might be nice.

I definitely have the answers to all your trouble..sit back this will be long. I discovered this about 3 months ago and now my hair flows in the wind and is so weightless and healthy. And no i do not have a relaxer i stopped getting them 5 years ago ( and i've only have 3 relaxers in my life time so this is all natural) it amazes me.

1. The shampoo, unfortunately many black women are using shampoos with alcohol and petroleum jelly. step away from them. Use Aveda's shampoo.. specifically the name is Brilliant...go to the website. I use it, i love it, it mouisterizes my hair and the products are natural. i have also heard that KeraCare is good.

2. Okay, step two condition it and then it is time to comb it out, Do not use a brush on you hair when it is wet,,it will hate you for it then break off in revenge.

3. Do a hot oil treatment atleast once a month with extra virgin olive oil...repeat..EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil..not the regular stuff. unfortunately i have yet to take this step however my hair is doing great.

4. Okay on the daily basis you need to pay close attention to your hair...i recommend conditioning your scalp and your ends so that they will not get dry and unhealthy

Petroleum jellly and mineral oil are weapons of mass destruction,,it does so much harm to your hair it cannot be all explained here. So you ask what do I use...well natural oils

jojoba oi, extra virgin olive oil, sesame oil, emu oil, coconut oil...all these natural oils and more love you..i promise.

5. Next,,if you want your hair straight but still be natural it is time to get a freakin good flat iron.,i have the Chi..it does the job but I recommend getting the Sedu because of the good reviews. make sure to protect your hair..i have so thermal protector from Aveda.

6. Eat healthy, drink lots of water,

7. take multivitamins, and fish oil pills you can get from GNC.

Follow these steps and life will be good..the best part about flat iron (which i do once a week or every two weeks not everday since it will kill your hair) is that it is not stringy but thick and healthy, yet straight and light enough to blow in the wind.

Hair wax can do anything.

i found out that most celebrities cut their hair pretty short (like to their shoulders), get it professionally straightened using chemicals... then they get extensions. its really hard to straighten long hair and keep it that straight, even professionally- but it usually works with shorter hair. i have no idea why though

me too. Use john frieda frizz eaze hair serum on wet hair, blow dry as straight as you can using a large brush and ionic hair dryer, and then use the paul mitchell smoothing iron on 2 inch sections on the highest setting.

Hi.

Hair dressers can chemically treat your hair to be 80% straight- costs about 鎷?0 for medium length hair and lasts up to three months- then it will need a root top up!

However, GHD's (Good Hair Day) are brilliant straighteners! Cost about 鎷?0. BUT...like any heated appliances, using them every day will cause your hair to frazzle and deplete its moisture, so you will also need a heat defense product and a highly moisturizing conditioner...Fudge products are great for that.

As for blocking humidity from the air...hairspray is one of the best tools...a general spritz.

Good luck

why you don't u go to a black hair salon?

i've had trouble in the past looking for a good one, but when i did it always comes out looking like my hair is naturally straight.

my hair salon is 45 minutes away, and i got about once every 2 months or so.

the press and curl lasts about 2 weeks

1.First, wash it with a shampoo %26amp; conditioner for 'hard to straighten' or 'dry and damaged hair'. Any brand is fine, but i suggest garnier fructs or herbal essences. Wash it with warm water, then rinse it with cold to help prevent frizz.

2.After it is washed, towel dry it and comb all the knots out gently. Then apply a heat protectant spray/gel/cream all over the hair evenly. These are really important, and you can find some with a hold.

3.Use a big brush and blowdry your hair on a very hot setting. Make sure all the hair is dry, then blow it with cool air to help prevent frizz.

4.Now for the straightener, gently use it on small sections. A 'wet to dry' straightener is the best, but until you can get one then i suppose your sister's one is fine.

5.When you are done use a shine spray for a healthy looking glow, and a very little bit of hairspray to prevent flyaways. Your hair should be pretty straight now!

To keep it from curling you can wear it other hairstyles other than just all down, like if you wear it half up no hair is touching the sweat on your face (sweat causes the hair to curl!). Try not to brush your new straight hair as much as possible. If you can, try to only straighten your hair twice a week, if you do it too much your hair will end up like straw!

Good luck!
