I have bought a number of different products that we supposed to give me that off-the-beach look and nothing works. I used a diffuser when I was blow drying and everything. I keep thinking about getting a body wave put in, but when my hair grows out it will look funny. Any suggestions for something simple to do with my hair? It's pretty long and will not hold a curl unless I use enough hairspray to make it as hard as a brick. Ugh. I should just switch to wigs like Dolly. :)
How do I give very straight hair body and waves?
okay..to get the beach waves
Get a Spray Bottle and fill it up half full with water.
Add 4 teaspoons of Sea Salt
2 tablespoons of a good leave in conditioner and shake it up.
Spray this in wet hair and let it air dry DO NOT BLOW DRY.
As it's dry scrunch it up a make it messy and u'll come out with messy beach waves
Here is how it looked after I did it the first time.
Keep in mind I'm a guy and have medium long hair. If your hair is longer the waves will look a a little more loose because of the weight.

very straight hair with waves?
huh...
How do I give very straight hair body and waves?
haha I've always wanted a wig ^_^
But i don't think you have to go that far =P Buy a curling iron and do it that way...curl your hair with it into a bunch of curls then run your fingers through your hair that should do it!! (add a bit of curling spray!
or braid your hair when its wet and let it dry that way then take it out (the more braids the more curls!)
Also you could try srunching your hair (but that wont give you the beachy look)

here are some suggestions:
layering your hair
use sea salt spray (that's how beach waves form)
braid ur hair and sleep with it
scrunch your hair
put some hair, sleep with it, and hopefully you'll get waves (havent tried that yet)
good luck!
