there are these benders. they are long and easy to use. try them it is like a old time roller set.

My wife, a hairdresser, says to use hot rollers. The smallest ones and don't brush through it, just use your fingers.

Get your hair clean and wet, then towel-dry it. Take a handful of GOOD hair gel in your hand and scrunch it through your hair. It should get pretty wavy, and stay that way until you wash it again.

wash your hair at night and with nice clean hair make a bunch ( or as many as you see fit) of little braids in your hair and when you wake up, undo the braids and your hair will be wavy and cute! or if you have a hair crimper that can make your hair a nice different texture giving the illusion of a wave. i hope you find something that works for you!! :)
