I have really straight hair ( like Asians) and when I want a change, curls don't stay!?

I love my hair, but like to change it up once in a while. I put holding gel when wet and apply hairspray after curling, but it won't last more than an hour!!

Same thing here! I'm asian and I have straight hair, and everytime i curl my hair, 3 hours later it will be straight again. I guess we got to try spraying extra extra hairspray on or something. haha. But if anything, DON'T get a perm like what the others said. I would rather have my hair straight and neat than having it permed and all nappy.

I'll trade ya. I have ultra curly (natural curls) and would do anything to have perfectly straight hair. You are very lucky.

straight hair is very relaxed so it won't hold anything. the only thing that you could do it get a perm. i don't know how long that it'll last maybe like a month, but it will give you the curl that you want. and there are different size curls so you won't have to have a fro if you don't want to. you can have it like a wavy curl if you want.

There's a shampoo called "Wash 'N Curl" and you wash your hair with it, dry your hair of course, and then style it. It really helps hold the curl. I washed mine with it and then rolled it on sponge rollers while it was still damp and left them in overnight and I had curls for days!!! Try that.

(they will come out when you wet your hair of course)

I have found that mousse helps my hair hold its curl a lot better than most gels. Try applying TIGI catwalk root boost to your roots then a strong hold mousse. Lightly dry your hair while bending over. Roll your hair in Velcro rollers and then use the blow dryer to apply more heat to the rollers. Leave the rollers in for a few minutes and then unroll. After you've unrolled, style your hair and use a lot of a humidity proof hairspray - the ones like aquanet from the drugstore seem to have the heaviest hold.

You can also try some of those hair extensions to add a little extra on occasion.

please please don't do perm. straight always better. you won't regret like me. perm will make your hair falling, damage, dry, etc.

after wash your hair, you can't just go right away to the store like when you have straight hair. because you need to blow dry %26amp; make your own style. it's more headached. trust me...

if you only need to curly just becoz you bored, used strong foam and roll your hair for about half an hour. use the equipment to get curly/wave. but i'm not suggest you do perm.

Try using a thick cream in your hair before you dry it..... its different from Hair spray and gel, it really helps my hair. I have thick hair so its hard to keep a curl, but with some leave in cream my curls hold for at least a few hours... then of course they will go a little flat.
