my hairstylist thinned down my hair saying it was necessary in order to achieve the layered look..he took off a bulk of hair.my new haircut suits me.but im upset coz i feel the volume is gone and its not as thick as it used to be.is that the general procedure?how long will it take for the volume to return again..
I have long black straight hair cut in layers.?
layered hair doesn't need to be thinned!!!! the layers will do that by its self. if you like to wear your hair super straight then this is the cut for you otherwise not. Pls. go to different stylist that understands you and what you really want. by the time you go for a trim and nobody thins it our you will be good. ask for a regular trim 1/2 inch off with box layers. NO Thinning at all!!!! that will get you back on track. ( if they are a great stylist then they will understand what you mean.) this is a standard hair cut. with all the other little layers in your hair it will look beautiful.

The same thing happened to me. The hair dresser told me she wanted to point cut my layers. I told her do not do that becuase it will make my hair look way to thin. She did exactly what I told her not to do. My hair looks thin and horrible! Report It

The only thing you can do is keep trimming it and it will eventually thicken up. Report It

It depends on the style and if u like it whats the problem.
Hair growth is dependent on your genes, but as a standard hair growth is about 1 cm every 4-6 weeks give or take a few milimetres.

It depends on how fast your hair grows. You say it suits you so try to be comfortable with and discuss your concerns with your stylist before your next cut.

I have long black straight hair cut in layers.?
depends on how long it takes your hair to grow back. I have long thick curly hair. My hairstylist did the same, so that i wouldn't have to much volume. you could use products to increase the volume in your hair and blow dry it as well.
I have long black straight hair cut in layers.?
Yes, that would be the general procedure. If you want the volume back, you will have to let your hair grow out until all the layers are at least about the same length. The next time you have a haircut, you can tell your stylist this so that they won't touch the layers anymore but just trim it for style.

i really don't know but if you want your volume back tease it or use mousse or blow dry it

It depends on how fast you hair grows and how close he cut your hair. It could take anywhere from one month to two months,up to a year.
